Religious education or faith formation is an ongoing process for every baptised individual. At St. John Vianney, we provide avenues so that you can continue your faith formation or begin your Catholic journey by joining the Christian Initiation process commonly known as RCIA for adults or RCIC for children. Preschool / Kindergarten. Religious education is offered to Preschoolders and Kindergarteners during the 9:30 Eucharist on Sunday mornings. Liturgy of the Word for Children. The Liturgy of the Word for Children is offered to children in grades K - 4 at the 9:30 Eucharist on Sunday mornings. Grades 1 - 8. Children in grades 1 - 8 receive their faith formation through the Religious Education Program. The education provides a foundation in the Catholic faith and preparation for the Sacraments. Grades K - 5 are also welcome to attend Vacation BIBLE School. This year's session has been scheduled for June 13 - 17, 2010. 6 - 9 PM. Grades 9 - 12. High school youth program - check the bulletin for activities. Adults. We do not forget the adults. They
receive informal faith formation as they bring their children to the sacraments:
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist and Reconciliation. We encourage adults
to attend the Advent and Lenten series and to participate in BIBLE Study.
The religious education program provides instruction for students in grades 1 - 8. During the year, opportunities are given for celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Teachers in this program volunteer their talents and service, but are required to attend workshops and to work toward Archdiocesan Certification, for which classes and opportunities are provided. To offer your assistance, contact Sr. Marietta in the parish office at 895-0896. The purpose of VBS is to give children in grades K - 5 an opportunity to express through hands-on activities which include sharing scripture stories, prayer, art appreciation, crafts, music, drama and dance. It is an opportunity for you as older adults to volunteer your time and talent for the children of the parish. CHILDREN ENTERING THE PROGRAM LATE Children interested in entering the Catholic Church
