ADORATION
A regular commitment of one hour per week is required, or you may volunteer to be an alternate. No training is required, only a desire to spend time with our Lord.

ALTAR AND SACRISTY CARE
Choose from many important functions that emphasize your devotion to our Lord, from
cleaning and pressing the altar linens, used for Divine services…to cleaning and filling
the Holy Water Font used to remind us of our baptismal vows. You may wish to clean the
robes used by the altar servers, or clean candle holders and replace candles.

Contact: Parish Office 895-0808.

ALTAR SERVERS
Servers are an important part of the celebration for the Mass, preparing the altar prior to
Mass, directly assisting the celebrant during Mass, and resetting the altar for the next
Mass. Boys and girls are eligible to train when they reach fifth grade, and may serve
through graduation from high school.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Possessing a clearly defined understanding of the presence of Jesus in the consecrated
bread and wine, Eucharistic Ministers share their faith openly with the community
through their participation in the Mass by distributing communion.

FAMILY LIFE
This ministry is tailored to parishioners who can accept the responsibility of having a
direct impact on strengthening and developing the pastoral care of our parish family by
assessing the needs of all families in the congregation and helping plan specific responses
to family needs. It is a ministry that understands and promotes the importance of all
families in the continued growth and development of our parish, whether single, married,
divorced, separated or widowed.

FUNERAL LUNCHEONS
This ministry is a service for friends and family of the deceased. By participating, you
are helping fellow parishioners during a time of need. Volunteers either make salads or
desserts, or help set up the social hall, serve the meal and clean as needed.

HOSPITAL MINISTRY
A hospital minister is truly God's hand at work…a good listener who is loving,
compassionate and truly cares about a sick person's fears and concerns. Through their
actions, ministers bring the news that Jesus is alive and cares about those in need.

INTERCHURCH MARRIAGE GROUP
This lay ministry support group consists of married couples who bring two religious
denominations into a marriage. By sharing the challenges and joys of an interfaith
marriage, couples can learn from each other's experiences, realizing that interfaith
couples are not alone.

LECTORS/COMMENTATORS
Not unlike the twelve apostles, lectors share an earnest desire to proclaim God's word.
This spiritual closeness to the beauty and importance of God's word, is not only
proclaimed, but shared and passed on to every member of the congregation with each
reading. Lectors should have little or no fear of speaking before large groups of people.

MINISTRY OF PRAISE
This is truly the essence of a spiritual ministry. Ministers of praise offer all joys,
suffering, and prayers to God for the salvation of souls. Through daily prayer, ministers
serve an intercessory capacity for the needs of our church, parish community and the
world.

MUSIC MINISTRY
What a beautiful way to participate in the Mass and share with your fellow parishioners
one of the talents God has blessed you with. All you need to participate in this ministry is
an interest in music. There are opportunities for musicians of all age groups and of all abilities to share their talents with the community. No auditions are required and all are welcome!

MORNINGS FOR MOMS
This is a ministry developed especially for moms, providing you an opportunity to share
time and experiences with other moms. Through a balance of religious and day-to-day
living topics, each meeting will provide the opportunity for you to learn more about
yourself and others in a relaxed, unstructured environment.

PARISH COUNCIL
There can be no greater honor than encouraging the spiritual growth of our parish by
representing the needs of fellow parishioners. Council members assist the priests in
actively promoting a Christian way of life, not only within the parish, but at home, in
business and among all of God's people. Council members are responsible for advising
policy and supporting the work of the pastoral staff.

RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a program for non-Catholics who wish to know
the teachings of the church, for Catholics who wish to enrich the practice of their faith
and obtain a deeper and clearer understanding of it, and for the parish community who
takes Jesus' admonition seriously to "Go out and teach all the nations…" Everyone is
encouraged and invited to attend these sessions, which commence in the fall and continue
on until the week or two after Easter.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Sharing your faith with others is a reward that cannot be measured. In spending just an
hour or so a week touching the lives of our parish family children, teachers realize the
greatest instantaneous results of all…the smiles, hugs and satisfaction of knowing that
someone else has been touched by your efforts.
The only requirement of volunteering to be a teacher is to be a faith centered, practicing
Catholic whose desire is to share the faith and Catholic tradition with our family's
children. Each class meets once a week, 1st through 6th grades meet for one hour
and fifteen minutes, 7th-9th grades meet for one hour and a half, with Pre-K and
Kindergarten classes meeting during the 9:30 Mass on Sunday.

the orderly distribution of communion and passing out bulletins.

THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE
By joining this ministry you share in the extreme pleasure of sending God's love
outward into the community by being the first to welcome new members into our parish
family. Members of this ministry enjoy meeting and talking with people, and are
knowledgeable about various opportunities for participation that our family provides.
Committee members visit newly registered parishioners and greet them with a welcome
gift of bread and wine.
